Membership with the DJJV: The Vast Advantages

Detailed Background from all areas of the legal system
Members receive approximately twice a year the ZJapanR, the Journal of Japanese law, which is released / published in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (MPI), Hamburg.

The DJJV regularly organizes lectures and comparative law symposiums for its members on special subjects.

The association, which is represented nationwide, is non-partisan. According to the last notice of exemption received by the association from the Hamburg-Nord-17 tax office (tax no. 17/412/00747) dated 12.11.2020, the DJJV e.V. is exempted from corporation tax in accordance with § 5 Para. 1 No. 9 of the Corporation Tax Act and from trade tax in accordance with § 3 No. 6 of the Trade Tax Act.
The DJJV promotes in the sense of §§ 51 ff. AO exclusively and directly the following non-profit purposes:
- Promotion of national and professional education including student aid (§ 52 section 2 sentence 1 no. 7 AO).
- Promotion of international attitudes, tolerance in all areas of culture and the idea of international understanding (§ 52, section 2, sentence 1, no. 13 AO).
The DJJV e.V. is entitled to issue donation receipts for donations made to it for use for these purposes. Donations and membership fees up to 300 EUR can be submitted to a German tax office with a donation receipt (Zuwendungsbestätigung) with the deposit slip of the bank transfer (e.g. a bank statement).
