The DJJV wishes you a Happy New Year 2025 and is pleased to invite you to an event on January 23, 2024 at 6 p.m. c.t. at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.
Professor Akito Morooka, Associate Professor at Tōhoku University, currently on a research stay at Humboldt University Berlin, will give a lecture in German on the Japanese local government system at the University of Frankfurt. The lecture will first outline the influences of German law on Japanese law during the Meiji period and the subsequent historical developments. In the second part, current challenges will be examined. A particular focus will be on the differences between municipal statutes in Japan and Germany.
